Greetings Dog Park Friends!
At its January 19 meeting, the Madison CCA Sponsor Group heard Debbie Powers of Arlington's Office of Emergency Management share tips on how to prepare an emergency plan for your pets. Here's how you can get started:
This June marks the 10th year that the park has been at its present location. A birthday celebration at the park is scheduled for Saturday, June 4 (rain date: June 5), times to be determined. We need volunteers to help plan and stage this event.
Please see Arlington Now blog for useful tips for Keeping Your Dog Healthy and Happy at the Dog Park, courtesy of Clarendon Animal Care and K-9 Harmony.
Good Samaritans needed. The handicapped parking spaces outside the park are still snowed in. If you can lend a hand to do some digging, it will be very appreciated!
See you at the park,

At its January 19 meeting, the Madison CCA Sponsor Group heard Debbie Powers of Arlington's Office of Emergency Management share tips on how to prepare an emergency plan for your pets. Here's how you can get started:
- Go to the OEM website and sign up for Arlington Alert.
- Make a plan for your pets.
- Be aware that the Animal Welfare League of Arlington and Arlington's OEM have included pets in their disaster plans with a 20-foot long trailer, stocked with everything needed to set up a temporary pet-friendly shelter in the event of an emergency, including animal crates, food and water dishes, litter pans, identification bands, pet food, and cleaning supplies. More information is available at AWLA.
- Be at the park on April 9 at 10 am to meet with OEM staff and get an emergency collar strobe light for your pet. For more information, visit OEM's Prepared Pets site.
